Gilbert’s El Indio 2019 Print
8″ x 12″ Giclee Print on Fine Art photographic paper
Price : $25
I made this Gouache piece shortly after my late grandfather and Gilbert’s El Indio restaurant owner passed away this past year. I created it as an outlet and a time to reflect on the legacy he left, leaving behind a community driven restaurant and hangout spot that many might call their second home. Questioning and praying about how I can help make a difference during these tough times, I made these 8 “x 12” with an idea to give back to our community. Proceeds help our restaurant provide meals to those who are down and out during this tragic time. Although we are a small business, I feel very blessed to be a part of this family and very confident that God will take care of us. So in honor of my late grandfather and family who created this place that has been a staple in Santa Monica, where everyone is like family, it is my desire to pay it forward. We have been partnering weekly with a local food bank at “Mar Vista Garden’s”, a low income project area in Culver City. We have been able to hand out many hot meals from our restaurant as the local residents pass through the grocery line. With your partnership and support, we hope to continue to do our part in serving food, hope, and helping our community through this rough year. All prints are signed and hand stamped for community as a reminder that we are all working together through this time and that your purchase made a difference.
